Share the Christmas Cheer This Year With Thoughtful Christmas Gifts

It’s that time of the year again when we forget about the stress that overwhelms us, and get to focus a bit on the joy that the upcoming Christmas holidays bring about. It’s no wonder many are mesmerised by the festive magic: you get together with family, you eat tasty food without worrying about the calories for once, and you get to share and receive gifts!

As much as I’m fond of the Christmas carols and the traditional Aussie Christmas foods like good old pudding, I must admit it’s the gifts I look forward to the most. There’s something truly magical about placing gifts in the socks and under the tree that immediately uplifts my mood, same way it does seeing the happiness of loved ones opening them up. This is why I plan the presents days (if not months) in advance to get the wow effect!

Treat Them with Edible Gifts

Whenever I’m not in the mood for too much planning, or don’t know the recipient too well, I look for tasty and cute edible Christmas gifts to buy. Some would say the bouquets and chocs are clichés but I beg to differ. Flowers are a great way to show how much you appreciate the person, and I don’t even have to talk about chocolate as the delight that can put a smile on their face, no matter their age.

If you’d like to take it up a notch, my suggestion is to look for hampers full of a variety of tasty treats in addition to chocolate, like different cheeses or healthy snack bars. In case you want to surprise a vegan, there are vegan chocs you can easily find, as well as baskets with a variety of teas, coffees, and even gin – perfect if the recipient is keen on experimenting new flavours.

In case you’d like to add your signature to the Christmas gifts, you can look for a hamper option that allows you to pick what you want in it, or even roll up your sleeves and make something yourself. For example, healthy Christmas cookies with erythritol instead of sugar are a great way to show them you care about them and their wellbeing!

If the person has a pet, make sure you include them in the present too! Pets like dogs and cats could be up for cookies, so you have reason more to take to baking. Get inspired by looking up some recipes for such homemade treats.

Remind Them About the Importance of Pampering

Nowadays, we’re used to taking relaxation for granted then we end up surprised why daily stress leads to health issues, from mood changes and lack of sleep, to weight gain, and even certain life-threatening conditions like heart diseases. Christmas holidays are the ideal time of the year to take some time for ourselves, unwind and relax at home, and what better way to do so than by giving and receiving gifts with body care products.

In fact, you can even stumble upon tasty edible Christmas gifts to buy like hampers that have pamper stuff included, from refreshing body lotions, to fancy bathrobes and candles that amaze with their aroma to fit within an aromatherapy set of essential oils. Make your present both tasty and relaxing to remind them to take relaxation seriously!

Get Them Something Useful

Useful can mean different things, so first you have to find out what it is that the person needs. If you don’t know them too well, like shopping for a new colleague, maybe you could try to find out something more about them by doing a little social network stalking first or ask another colleague to help you out.

If it’s for someone you know, the advice is to pay attention to what they’re saying and doing, and they’d give you a clue as to what their next present should be without even being aware. Some might be up for trying a new hobby, so you could give them a push forward by signing them up for it or helping them out with the equipment. Others might be up for a new experience, like learning a language or visiting a special place, and you can take this as your chance to make their dreams come true.

Don’t Forget to Surprise Little Ones

When planning on surprising loved ones, be they family or friends, think of their little ones too as they happen to be looking forward to presents the most. It’s easy to put a smile on their faces with edible Christmas gifts to buy, but if you want to take it up a notch consider their age as well as what their likes and dislikes are.

For instance, some kids are fond of plush toys so this is the perfect opportunity to enlarge their collection with a new teddy, while others are better off with wooden toys like building blocks, trains, cars, as well as educational toys that require assembling. When purchasing for older kids, you might opt for puzzles, a globe, star charts, or even something that would provide them with a hobby, like a geology kit.
