Migration to Australia: Reach Your Target Destination Faster
A lot of young people choose Australia as their go-to location to better themselves and study in one of the premium universities it has to offer. It’s one of the top destinations for studying abroad among UK students, and it has 8 universities in the top 100 world university rankings, including the Australian National University, University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, University of Queensland, University of South Wales, Monash University, University of Western Australia and University of Adelaide.
However, acquiring an immigration student visa can be a long and tough process, especially for first-time appliers. In order to get the best possible chance of acquiring an immigration student visa, it’s highly recommended you get help from a migration service agency, which can help you fill all necessary application forms, help you acquire all the necessary documents, and give you professional advice. Generally, you have to prove a couple of things to the DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection), including:
- GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) requirement
- Health and character requirements
- Financial requirements
- English proficiency requirements
Next, you’ll have to complete a visa application form, pay a visa application fee, and possibly attend an interview. Most of the application process can be completed online, including applying for the visa, acquiring a Letter of Offer or Confirmation of Enrolment which confirms that you’ve indeed been accepted into a Commonwealth Register of Institutions of Courses.
Financial Requirements
To pass the financial requirements conditions, you need to prove that you have enough funds to cover travel, living and tuition costs, which includes about $20.000 a year. If you have dependents, such a partner or children, you need to show additional financial evidence of being able to cover all living costs for them as well, including school fees.
Health Requirements
The health requirements may not apply for everyone. However, if you intend on studying for a nurse, dentist or doctor, you may be asked to take a radiological and/or medical check-up at a doctor’s office who is approved by immigration department.
English Proficiency Requirements
If you aren’t from an English speaking country, you’ll have to prove you can speak English to the required level (requirements depend on the type of education you’ll be attending in Australia). The Department of Immigration and Border Protection lists all the eligible test with the possibilities being: TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, IELTS and Cambridge Advance English. The score you’ll need also depends on whether you’re doing a foundation course, starting a full degree, or enrolling in a preliminary ELICOS (English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students).
